to Canadians: I normally refrain from posting political content (that does not relate to art/writing etc.) but as this pertains to the internet and to our abilities to feel safe accessing the websites we want, I think it is important.  If you care about the open internet, whatever your political preference, please sign the petition below.  Though the petition is associated with the Liberal party, don’t let partison affiliations/non-affiliations stop you from protesting this bill. I don’t specifically identify with any Canadian political party, but I do think that it is important that this bill receives a full debate within parliament and the voices of Canadians, not just parliamentarians, are heard.

Petition: Bill C-30

If you want more information on the gist of Bill C-30 and other internet surveillance bills like it (within Canada) I suggest watching this video, which is non-partisan, and in which the issue of internet surveillance is discussed and critiqued by academic experts on the subject.

Also consider contacting your MP to share your views on internet surveillance, whether or not you are for or against it.
