some things i like: dogs; my dog; freshly falling snow; coffee; tea (earl grey or bourbon vanilla); more coffee; books [quirky exemption: historical fiction]; reading books; sleep [always]; letter-writing; admiring other people’s talented artwork; art that explicitly combines the personal and the political; psychoanalytic theory [minus oedipus and electra]; neuroscience; kids when they’re not crying; hospitals at night when things are calm and quiet; linguistics, though i don’t know much about it; counterculture movements and conspiracy theories mainly because they intrigue me from a cultural perspective, not necessarily because i agree with them; the open internet; books over kindles; and fires, though i’m not an arsonist.

philosophically, i tend to gravitate existentialist and postmodernist thinkers. i sometimes border on nihilism, except for when i am a humanist bordering on a sentamentalism. basically, i’m 22 and not quite sure whether to love or hate the world yet. i have a lot of thoughts, views, likes, and dislikes and they don’t all fit together in a linear or even potentially explanatory fashion.
